The Seoul Institute of the Arts (SIA) was founded by Chi Jin Yoo in 1962. Today, there are 2,400 future artists attending the 14 different departments and SIA is a leading arts conservatory in Asia. In 2001, SeoulArts expanded by adding a new campus. The Ansan campus became where students receive the arts education foundation and the Namsan evolved to become a center where art is produced and presented to audiences. The Namsan center has modern multi-functional proscenium theater, a black-box theater, a sound stage, recording studios, and multiple rehearsal and classroom space. The goal of the center is to develop, produce and present art and entertainment.
