Katherine Bennett is an interactive engineer and media artist who explores the liminal spaces and temporal experiences that technology creates. Her research focuses on how communication technologies are shaping our cultural interactions. Bennett utilizes sound and light to represent people and activities that happen in other spaces and times. Her specialty is in creating environments, which make perceptible phenomena and processes that aren't otherwise, such as Alzheimer's symptoms and memory flashbacks. Her latest interactive environments investigate the development of social networks, experiment with interaction thresholds and wireless communication traffic. Currently, she is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Integrated Digital Media at NYU's Tandon School of Engineering.
